Setting Up the Cabling Infrastructure
Assets
Before adding assets, you must set up the geographical structure of your company. Assets
can then be associated with the physical spaces in which they reside (see “Setting Up the
Geographical Infrastructure” on page 1-61.)
There are two categories of Assets in NetDoc™:
•
Workspace Assets
: Associated with workspace and faceplate connections (e.g.,
computer, fax, or telephone).
•
Backbone Assets
: Associated with a Telecommunication Space (e.g., hub or router).
Create New Asset Types
NetDoc™ comes with many predefined asset types. However, you can also define your own
unique types.
